Net-Map is an interview-based mapping tool that helps people understand, visualize, discuss, and improve situations in which many different actors influence outcomes. 
A very good example that science does not always have to be rather boring is provided by Linton C. Freeman. The author (who wrote an excellent overview of “The Development of Social Network Analysis: A Study in the Sociology of Science in 2004) assembles 24 comics that focus on networks.
